Amanda Z. Rubio, Esquire was first appointed by Mayor Luke Ravenstahl to the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations in October 2008. She served as the Commission’s first liaison to the Mayor’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Advisory Council from 2009-2011.
Commissioner Rubio is an associate attorney and member of the litigation practice group at Pion Johnston, P.C.. Amanda’s experience in commercial and civil litigation give her an unique understanding of cases involving discrimination in employment which come before the Commission.
Commissioner Rubio earned her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law after receiving her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. Commissioner Rubio is a member of the Asian Attorney Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), the Women’s Bar Association of Western PA, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association, and a member of the Young Lawyers Division of ACBA.
