SCHENLEY PARK SKATING RINK CELEBRATES 40th SEASON

Skate outdoors in a beautiful tree-lined setting seven days a week at the Schenley Park Skating Rink.  Admission is $4/adult and $3/child -- with free parking.    PLEASE NOTE:  No Sunday evening 7 - 9 p.m. session will take place on February 1.

City Recreation Centers to Provide Free Afterschool Meals to Children

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl announced today that the City's Department of Parks and Recreation (Citiparks) has added the Child and Adult Care Afterschool Feeding Program (CACFP) to its 10 Community Recreation Centers located throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. Beginning September 8, 2009, each of the qualified sites will provide a free and healthy, hot meal to school age children (kindergarten up to 18 years old). The meals will be available at the centers between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
