Schenley Park Skating Rink Concluding Outdoor Skating Season on March 17, 2010

Lace up your ice skates one last time this winter!

The Schenley Park Skating Rink - one of only four outdoor rinks located in Allegheny County and the only regulation size rink in the City of Pittsburgh - is open for a few more days before closing on March 17, 2010, after the afternoon skating session.

"The Schenley Park Skating Rink remains an extremely popular destination each winter," according to Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. "Nothing compares with skating outside in the elements, and Schenley Park offers a beautiful tree-lined setting, great music and a spectacular view of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline."

Throughout the winter the rink operated daily and offered a variety of public sessions and special sessions such as "family night," "adults only nights" and "college ID discount sessions." The facility hosted three successful special events: "Skate with Santa" in December, "Mascot Skate" in January and "Valentines on Ice" in February.
