Summer is a great time to be a kid! Each summer day camp operates independently; therefore, camp fees vary. Call the facilities for details concerning costs and registration procedures. Due to the popularity of these programs, advance registration is necessary.

Kinder Nature Camp
for children three years old - entering first grade in fall
The Kinder Nature Camp is a week-long, half-day camp. The many activities include songs, games, stories, and walks in the woods. Daily themes include dirt, plants, insects and more! We'll dig for worms, plant our own seeds, and buzz like bees! Campers also do a hands-on project to help the park. Parents sign up to bring a snack. Choose one week only.

Kids Nature Camp
for children who have completed first, second and third grades
Each grade level/session has its own camp program especially designed with the participants' interests in mind. Children explore all day in the outdoors. Nature exploration, art, cooperative games, restoration projects, and hikes through the woods are some of the activities in this fun-filled week. The theme for those who have completed first grade is "Have to Have a Habitat"; for those finishing second grade, camp focuses on "Stewardship of the Earth"; those completing third grade learn about "Native American Life." Choose the week appropriate for your child's grade level. Please note: Children must provide their own lunches.

Outdoor Expeditions
for children who have completed fourth or fifth grades
Participants will explore Pittsburgh's great outdoors. Hands-on activities include stream hikes, fieldtrips (may involve van/bus travel), fun games, night exploration, and a campfire. Explore the nature of Pittsburgh! Please note: Children must provide their own lunches.
$175/session ($165 for FEC family member)

Survival Camp
for children who have completed sixth or seventh grades
A week-long camp for children who have completed sixth or seventh grade and are interested in learning basic wilderness survival skills. Each grade level/session has its own camp program especially designed with the participants' interests in mind. Campers will learn outdoor skills including shelter and fire building, finding water and food, whittling, first aid, tying knots, and outdoor preparedness. Both levels will emphasize teamwork, decision-making, and familiarity with the outdoors using different, age appropriate, strategies. Thursday's camp includes a fun field trip. Please note: Children must provide their own lunches.
