The menu across the top of the page will include icons for different tools on the map. You can hover over each icon to learn its function. For more information about each of the functions available on the main menu, read the user guide for the Zoning map.
Use the plus button to zoom in on the map, and the minus button to zoom out of the map. Clicking on the Default Extent button (shaped like a house) will center the map on the original extent.
A legend will be available for any map that includes complex information. If the legend does not automatically appear on the map, then click the 'legend' icon (circled in yellow below).
For maps that include more than one layer, users can click to include or remove layers. By clicking the layers icon (circled in yellow below), a checklist will appear. Check and uncheck layers to show on the map.
To change the background of your map, click on the basemap icon or menu. For most maps, the topographic basemap is selected by default.
Other tools include Find My location, Overview Map, Measure, Share, Save, and Print. For more information on how to use these tools, check out the user guide for the zoning map, where there is an in depth explanation.
Click on any feature you are interested in. A pop up window will appear that will provide additional information. If there are multiple layers on the map, navigate between the layers by clicking the white arrow at the top of the pop up window for more information. At the bottom of each pop up window, you can click "Zoom To" to zoom in on the selected feature.
