We are very excited to share this wonderful document with everyone in District 3. It is great to know that such amazing work is being done by such talented and motived people in our community.

Prepared by a team of interns and staff members at the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Greater Beltzhoover Toolkit "contains urban design strategies linked with corresponding urban planning and policy initiatives. These strategies are intended to reflect the neighborhood's values, wants, and needs.

"The purpose of this toolkit is to provide an easy reference document for future development in the neighborhood of Beltzhoover. This toolkit is... a starting point for redevelopment, with a central focus on urban design as a catalyst for future projects."

Please take a moment to look over the booklet and do not hesitate to contact us with questions or comments.

The Greater Beltzhoover Toolkit

Special thanks should be given to Mary Taylor and Naomi Ritter for all of their hard work in putting the Toolkit together.

Mayor Sophie Masloff

Today, I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Former Mayor Sophie Masloff. Sophie was truly one in a million, and this is a huge personal loss for the City of Pittsburgh and all whose lives were touched by her. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Masloff family in their time of loss. May her memory and legacy never be forgotten.

I was happy to host a Post Agenda today with the Coalition Against Violence. We had a very candid and passionate discussion on ways that the Pittsburgh community can work on resolving problems of violence in our neighborhoods.

Here is the link to the Coalition Against Violence community manifesto that was drafted as part of a greater, collaborative community effort in preventing and controlling gun violence and crime throughout our City and beyond.

Please feel free to read and share liberally!
