Neighborhood of Shadyside Bike Corral Design

The Shadyside Action Coalition (SAC) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to architects, designers, and artists / teams interested in creating interesting and durable designs to serve as bike corrals at metered parking spaces within Shadyside business districts.

After almost two years of work and dozens of community meetings with neighbors in Oakland, Shadyside, and Squirrel Hill, Carnegie Mellon University's ambitious 10-year Master Plan was unanimously approved by City Council at the end of April.

On Wednesday, May 30th, City Council gave initial approval to an allocation of $5,000 of Neighborhood Needs funding to the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation (OPDC) to work with the Schenley Farms Civic Association and other interested neighborhood groups to create a community plan for the redevelopment of Schenley High School.
