Pavement Management

The Pavement Management System (PMS) is a computerized database system which inventories all the streets in the City, rates their condition and recommends budgetary needs.

The Pavement Management System breaks each street into sections.  There are currently 16,660 street sections in the database.  Each section contains length, width, surface type, surface condition, subsurface type and subsurface condition information.

In 2015 we will be working with technology developed by CMU where cameras installed on city vehicles will provide instant data on street conditions that will be used in conjunction with data from the PMS.
