About the Projects

Each semester, graduate students from local universities collaborate with the City of Pittsburgh’s Department of Innovation and Performance on projects to aid in improving the City's internal operations.

Spring 2015

  • BOYD: Bring Your Own Device  –  Within this presentation, graduate students from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College School of Public Policy and Management provided an analysis to determine the viability of City-wide Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy planning and program implementation.
  • City of PittsburghNetwork Situational Awareness - During a period of four months a group of graduate students from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College School of Information Systems and Management, used network flow traffic to analyze the network situational awareness of the City of Pittsburgh.
