Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today called on Steelers fans to wear black and gold Friday, Sept. 10, as part of the NFL’ sBack to Football Friday campaign, which asks fans to help officially kick off the 2010 NFL season.
“It’s that time of year again,” said Ravenstahl. “Let’s once again show the NFL that Pittsburgh has the best fans in the nation by wearing black and gold Friday. I know that City workers will have their best Steelers gear laid out tonight – I ask that schools and local businesses encourage their students and employees to do the same.”
Back to Football Fridayis part of the City’s week-long celebrations, Back to Football Week, being held from Sept. 8 to Sept. 15.
Mayor Ravenstahl, Steelers President Art Rooney II and the Heinz History Center President and CEO Andy Masich marked the beginning of the celebrations yesterday by opening the week-long display of the Steelers’ six Super Bowl trophies at the History Center.
