Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato today declared Sept. 13-18 “Jackie Evancho Week” in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County as residents unite in support for their hometown star during the “America’s Got Talent” finale being held on Tues., Sept. 14 and Wed., Sept. 15.
“With the eyes of the nation on the young, talented Jackie Evancho, she never fails to express the love and pride she has for her hometown, our great City of Pittsburgh.” said Ravenstahl, “On behalf of Pittsburgh, I would like to thank Jackie for her positive representation of our City and wish her the best of luck Tuesday night. I’m reminding all Pittsburghers to vote Tuesday night and prove that the best fans in the world are right here in Pittsburgh.”
A banner will be placed on the City-County building on Grant Street Monday afternoon wishing Ms. Evancho good luck and encouraging all residents to vote for the “America’s Got Talent” finalist.
“Jackie has shown poise and determination well beyond her years, and her talent is inspirational,” said Onorato. “I want to encourage all of Southwestern Pennsylvania to vote for Jackie on Tuesday night as she strives to add “America’s Got Talent” winner to her already long list of career achievements.”
Finalists will perform one last time on Tuesday night’s “America’s Got Talent” show on NBC, which is scheduled to run from 9 to 10 p.m. The winner will be announced on Wednesday night’s finale show airing from 8 to 10 p.m. Grand prize winner receives a $1 million prize and the coveted “America’s Best Act” title.
