MAYOR ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION OPTION FOR CITIPARKS ACTIVITIES

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today announced that beginning tomorrow, June 7, residents will be able to register online for a variety of Citiparks’ activities with the launch of phase one of RegisterParks. The second phase, to take place by the end of the summer, will expand the registration offerings and allow for residents to pay for the low-cost activities online, instead of at Citiparks’ Community Recreation Centers.

“This customer-friendly software gives residents the convenience they deserve and expect from City government,” said Ravenstahl. “By expanding our online services and using technology to make our employees more efficient, we will continue to modernize City government.”

Membership for the online service is free, and initial registration offerings include swim lessons at outdoor pools, court time at the indoor Mellon Park Tennis Center, and a wide variety of programs at Community Recreation Centers ranging from basketball, dek hockey, soccer, dance, fitness classes, and play group.

“Soon, RegisterParks will expand to allow City residents to perform additional functions such as checking the availability of park picnic shelters, becoming a member of Frick Environmental Center, and even paying for aquatics classes online,” said Ravenstahl.

To open a free account, visit www.Citiparks.net and register as an individual or family.  Residents can stop by one of Citiparks’ 10 Community Recreation Centers to pick up membership tag(s) when participating in activities.
