City Offices Closed, Refuse Collection Postponed Tuesday In Observance of Independence Day
Pools and Spray Parks open on Tuesday

PITTSBURGH, PA (July 30, 2017) - In observance of Independence Day, City of Pittsburgh offices will be closed and refuse, bulk waste and recycling collections will be postponed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. 

The schedule will proceed as follows:   

If your scheduled day of collection is Tuesday, July 4, you will be serviced on Wednesday, July 5.  

If your collection day is Wednesday, July 5, you will be serviced on Thursday, July 6.  

If your collection day is Thursday, July 6, you will be serviced on Friday, July 7.  

If your collection day is Friday, July 7, you will be serviced on Saturday, July 8, 2017.   

PLEASE NOTE: Monday, July 3, 2017 is a regularly scheduled collection day and Monday services will not be disrupted due to the holiday schedule.

If you should have any questions concerning your collection, you may contact Environmental Services at 255-2773. 


Citiparks has announced the following holiday schedule for the weekend: 

CLOSED on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 

  • Recreation Centers
  • Healthy Active Living centers
  • East Liberty Farmers’ Market

OPEN on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 

  • Outdoor Swimming Pools:  1:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
  • Spray Parks: 11:00 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Mellon Park Tennis Center: Operating on regular schedule
