PITTSBURGH, PA - Mayor William Peduto’s trip to Ludwigsburg, Germany, underwritten by Carnegie Mellon University, continues Wednesday with the first of two days of an international sustainability conference.

German CSR-Forum (Sustainable City Development)

Time: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The 10th German CSR-Forum kicked off at 9 a.m. (3 a.m. EST) with a welcome from Markus Guerne of the German stock exchange and CSR-Forum organizer Wolfgang Scheunemann. The morning session is keynoted by  Baden-Württemberg Minister of Environment Francis Saucer and REWE Group CEO Alain Caparros.

Presentation on Cradle-to-Cradle production and design

Time: 1:20 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.

This presentation in English features Toyota Environment Manager John Malpas; Bosch Office of Sustainability head Bernhard Schwager; and Dr. Michael Braungart of EPEA International.

Meeting with Ludwigsburg Mayor’s Office

Time: 3 p.m.

Driving tour of projects, and examples of sustainability and technology

Presentation on feasibility of social responsibility

Time: 4:40 p.m.

Keynoted by German Post CEO Frank Appel. Other speakers include Strabag CEO Thomas Birtel; Retail Association Germany CEO Stefan Genth; German Environmental Aid national director Jurgen Resch; and dokeo managing director Wolfgang Scheunemann.
