PITTSBURGH, PA (Dec. 31, 2015) - The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works, in conjunction with PennDOT and Mosites Heavy Construction, have announced that inbound and outbound lanes of I-376 East will reopen today, Thursday, Dec. 31.
Inbound entrances to the Parkway East will begin opening at 2:00 p.m. today. The on-ramp at Exit 74 Squirrel Hill/Homestead will reopen first, then the on-ramp at Exit 77 Edgewood/Swissvale. All inbound lanes should be open and accessible by 3:00 p.m.
Outbound entrances will reopen between 10:00 p.m. and Midnight tonight. Outbound lane entrances require additional coordination with PennDOT and contract work that is being performed on the Birmingham Bridge. All outbound lanes should be open and accessible by midnight - 12:00 a.m. on January 1, 2016.
The City of Pittsburgh would like to thank everyone involved with the planning and events associated with the Greenfield Bridge demolition. A special thank you goes to Mosites Heavy Construction for their dedicated efforts throughout the demolition and cleanup processes this week. The city would also like to recognize and thank the City of Pittsburgh Departments of Public Safety, Public Works and Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Police, Pennsylvania State Police and law enforcement officials from local municipalities that provided a tremendous amount of support to the project. Finally, city officials would like to thank members of the community for their continued patience and cooperation throughout the project, especially the residents and businesses of Greenfield and Squirrel Hill.
