PITTSBURGH, PA (Feb. 11, 2016) - The City of Pittsburgh will open several regional warming centers this weekend to help residents through dangerously low temperatures and wind chills.
On Friday only, all 24 Citiparks Community Centers -- including 10 Recreation and 13 Healthy Active Living (Senior) Centers -- will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and will serve as warming centers for the public.

On Saturday Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14, the following regional Citiparks Community Centers will be open in the same capacity:
Hours for both Saturday and Sunday will be 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
All Pittsburgh police and other emergency personnel will be asked to check on homeless individuals, advise them of the extreme cold, and if necessary transport them to shelters or warming centers. Animal Control will also enforce city law prohibiting pets from being left outside during the extreme weather.
