PITTSBURGH, PA (June 8, 2016) - The Office of Mayor William Peduto and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA), in partnership with NEXTPittsburgh announced today that the second installment of the NEXT 3 Days (N3D) event series will take place June 17 – 19, 2016 in the city’s Hilltop neighborhoods of Mt. Washington and Allentown.
N3D is an initiative created by the Mayor’s Office, the Urban Redevelopment Authority and NEXTPittsburgh designed to showcase emerging neighborhoods throughout Pittsburgh and promote affordable housing. The program consists of 3 days to celebrate and highlight neighborhood culture, businesses, and amenities in an effort to attract new residents and consumers to the neighborhood. The inaugural N3D took place in October 2015 and spotlighted the Troy Hill neighborhood.
"Pittsburgh has 90 amazing neighborhoods with wonderful cultural amenities, strong communities, centuries of history and good housing stock,” said Mayor William Peduto. “Next 3 Days is a great way to showcase some of our lesser known local areas that are very deserving of the attention. I’d like to thank my staff and the URA for creating a program designed to highlight all that Pittsburgh has to offer.”
N3D will kick off with a Hilltop Block Party from 6-9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, on Manton Way at the RE360 “Industry on Industry” building. The 21+ event will feature live local music, with headliner Beauty Slap, and will be emceed by Hilltop resident and famed Pittsburgh personality and musician, Phat Man Dee. Guests will enjoy craft beer and cocktails and food from local restaurants: Kavsar, Leon’s Caribbean, Alla Famiglia, and Sweet Peaches. The event will also feature local art with Pop Craft, neighborhood photography displays via Steel City Grammers and NEXTpittsburgh, and Hilltop games via City of Play.
