Office of Mayor William Peduto
Updated: Weekend Parkway East Closure To Begin Early Saturday Morning

Update: A previous version of this release reflected a different start time. The weekend Parkway East closure will begin at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10 and end no later than 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12.

PITTSBURGH, PA (December 8, 2016) - The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works advises that I-376 East (Parkway East) inbound and outbound lanes will be closed to all traffic starting Saturday, December 10, at 3:00 a.m. until Monday, December 12, at 6:00 a.m.

This weekend will mark the final full closure of the Parkway East for the Beechwood Boulevard (Greenfield) Bridge project. Mosites made significant progress during the last closure. This closure is needed to finish tightening all the connections of the steel and complete the installation of metal decking on the new superstructure.

Posted detours will follow the same routes and patterns as previous Parkway East closures that took place during the bridge implosion in December 2015. Signage will be provided to direct motorists. Maps of the official detours are available here: Eastbound Detour Map ; Westbound Detour Map.

Off duty police officers will be directing traffic at key intersections to assist motorists along the detour routes and help minimize travel times.

Additional information can be found on the Oakland Transportation Management Association’s (OTMA) community outreach website (http://greenfieldbridge.otmapgh.org/).

If you have any questions concerning this closure, please contact Aaron Pickering, Project Manager of Michael Baker International, at 412-269-6423, or via email to Apickering@mbakerintl.com
