The Public Safety Transition Team, chaired by Mayor Peduto, was charged with offering recommendations to improve the delivery of our public safety resources to make Pittsburgh one of the safest cities in America.
The team focused on the following areas:
Improving hiring, training, and promotion practices.
Restoring pride and accountability across our public safety workforce.
Reviewing critical needs of all public safety bureaus.
Fostering a culture of service and responsiveness to the community.
Adopting best practices for deployment of public safety resources.
