"My priority as Mayor is to develop clean, safe and green thriving neighborhoods that all residents can be proud to call home.  As of result of hard work, tough choices, and implementing my vision for Pittsburgh, the city is now in the midst of its Third Renaissance.  My vision for Pittsburgh is that this rebirth is felt not only in the city’s core, but in each of our 90 neighborhoods." - Mayor Luke Ravenstahl

Mayor Ravenstahl's vision for Pittsburgh is a clean, safe and competitive City in which residents take pride, families thrive, neighborhoods grow, businesses and institutions prosper and visitors feel welcome.

Through Mayor Ravenstahl's vision and leadership, his staff works to engage residents, community groups and other stakeholders to support the growth and revitalization of each of Pittsburgh’s 90 neighborhoods by:

  • providing avenues for residents to become engaged in civic processes;
  • stabilizing our neighborhoods by reducing blight;
  • developing and supporting innovative, resident-driven initiatives that address public safety concerns in partnership with law enforcement;
  • reinvesting and supporting the growth of small business in our neighborhood business districts;
  • increasing and attracting economic development in our City and bring jobs to our residents; and
  • leading the revitalization of neighborhoods and growth of the City through strategic and collaborative partnerships.

Mayor Ravenstahl has created several innovative programs such as the Civic Leadership Academy, ServePGH, Green Up Pittsburgh Program, and the Taking Care of Business Districts Program (TCOB) to meet our neighborhoods' most pressing needs.
