Medical Benefits

The City of Pittsburgh, through the Department of Personnel and CSC and the Benefits Section, is responsible for providing medical plans to employees and their families. Plans are provided while ensuring the utmost confidentiality, integrity and compliance with laws & regulations, public policy and collective bargaining agreements.

Teamsters and PJCBC union members are covered under separate union plans.

On this page you can find information about City medical benefits.  For 2017 the City offers a choice of three (3) medical plans. Police can also select the Premium Plan among the three carriers. 

Each plan has the same plan design; what's different are the doctors and hospitals.
