CHURCH JOINS WITH CITY TO OBSERVE 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF TRAGIC FIRE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and Emergency Medical Services will participate in the 10-year memorial service in remembrance of a tragic five-alarm fire in which two fire fighters lost their lives and 29 others were injured.

The March 16, 2004 blaze destroyed the historic edifice of the Hill District’s Ebenezer Baptist Church during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The congregation has dedicated time annually to remember the service of the fire fighters and EMS personnel who heroically battled the fire. The memorial service will include a candlelight ceremony for the two firefighters who lost their lives.
