POLICE ARREST 2 IN HOMEWOOD SHOOTINGS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PITTSBURGH, PA –  Two Homewood men are under arrest in connection with a shooting this morning in the 7300 block of Susquehanna Street.

At approximately 2:16 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the scene after a 911 caller reported that two people had been shot. Upon arriving to the scene, Officers located the victims – a 41 year old black male from Swissvale who had been shot in back and a 35 year old black male from Dormont who had been shot in the ankle.

Both victims were taken to UPMC Presbyterian. The victim with the ankle injury has been treated. The victim who was shot in the back was taken to surgery.

Further investigation determined that the shots were fired from inside of a home in 7300 block. The occupants of the house did not respond to orders from Officers to come out of the house. SWAT was called and arrived at approximately 2:16 a.m.

Inside the home were five juveniles and two adult males. The juveniles were all released into the custody of their guardians. The two adults – Aaron Lyons and Davon Nichols both 20 years old from Homewood – were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, former convict not to own a firearm, and possession of controlled substances (20 stamp bags heroin, cocaine, and a small amount of marijuana).

The firearm believed to be used in the shooting was also recovered from the location.
