The Welcoming Community

Advising Welcoming Pittsburgh

The Welcoming Pittsburgh Roadmap was assembled by 40 advisory members before its public launch in 2015. In 2017 Welcoming Pittsburgh assembled a group of community stakeholders, who would serve as a Welcoming Pittsburgh Steering Committee (WPSC) to help advise the continuous implementation of the Welcoming Pittsburgh Roadmap.

In response to COVID-19 and the opportunity to expand community collaboration, Welcoming Pittsburgh shifted to a community model where stakeholders and newcomers engage directly on a regular community call to share resources, fulfill the roadmap, and address emerging challenges. Welcoming Pittsburgh partnered with Allegheny County’s Department of Human Services and All for All to advance the recommendations of the Roadmap through working groups of stakeholders.

If you are an individual or organization doing work to make Pittsburgh a welcoming city and would like to collaborate, please reach out to be included in our regular community call. Email us at: welcomingpgh@pittsburghpa.gov.

Welcoming Communities

The Welcoming Pittsburgh platform is made possible by partnerships with local stakeholders who know our immigrant, refugee, and asylee communities best. It’s with our partners’ support that we have been able to make strides towards making Pittsburgh a more welcoming city for all. We’d like to thank all of our partners for their support.
