City of Pittsburgh’s Lawn Cutting Service for Older Neighbors, Veterans, and Those with Disabilities – Applications Now Open for 2025
Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh is proud to announce the continuation of its City Cuts program in 2025, designed to provide free lawn cutting services to older residents, veterans, and individuals with disabilities who may face challenges maintaining their lawns.
This program helps ensure that our neighbors who lack the means or resources to cut their grass receive support throughout the summer and early fall months.
"The City Cuts program is a testament to our commitment to supporting every Pittsburgher, especially our older residents, veterans, and those living with disabilities," said Mayor Ed Gainey. "This service is a small but meaningful way to help our neighbors maintain their homes with dignity and ease. We’re proud to offer this support and ensure that no one is left behind in our efforts to make Pittsburgh a welcoming and inclusive place for all."
City Cuts service will be offered twice a month starting in May, weather permitting, and will continue from summer through mid-fall. This program aims to assist residents who meet certain qualifications and lack the social or financial means to maintain their lawns. To be eligible, applicants must:

Please note that service availability is limited, and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage eligible individuals to apply early to secure a spot for the 2025 season. The application deadline is Monday, April 21st.
