Detectives Investigate Overnight Shooting in Homewood North

Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched just before 10:00 p.m. on October 22, 2024 for a six-round ShotSpotter alert in the 1300 block of Collier Street in Homewood North.

Arriving officers were met by an adult male who stated that his 3-year-old son was shot in the hand. Officers observed a graze wound to the child’s finger and applied bandages in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

Pittsburgh EMS transported the child to Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene.

No property damage was found, nor were any shell casings recovered.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
