Downtown Public Safety Center Officers Make Three Firearms Arrests

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, officers on regular patrol made three separate gun arrests Downtown.

 

A male believed to be carrying a stolen firearm was apprehended at a parking garage on Forbes Avenue following a brief foot pursuit that began in the 300 block of Smithfield Street.
Eugene Camp, 21, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, and evading arrest on foot. He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

 

At approximately 6:30 p.m., after receiving a credible tip that a juvenile female was carrying a firearm Downtown, police observed the person matching her description leaving a business in the 200 block Fourth Avenue. The 15-year old was informed of why she was being stopped and was taken to be questioned at the Downtown Public Safety Center. Officers secured a search warrant from a judge to search her bag. 

 

She was subsequently charged with carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm by a minor. She was processed and placed on electronic monitoring.

 

Later in the evening, officers, with the assistance of Juvenile Probation, arrested a 17-year-old male on a warrant in the area of Sixth St. and Penn after he discarded a loaded firearm. He was transported to a juvenile facility.
