Incident Type: Fire Location: Police Z2
Just before 1:15 p.m. Pittsburgh Fire, EMS and Police responded for a 2-alarm residential structure fire in the 4500 block of Marina Drive in New Homestead.
The fire began on the back patio and spread quickly throughout the house.
One adult male received a burn injury to his hand trying to extinguish the fire. Medics transported him to the hospital in stable condition. The two other adults who live in the home arrived after the fire began and were not injured.
Firefighters declared the fire under control in just under one hour. The Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause.
The Red Cross has been notified to assist the family with temporary accommodations.
