Incident Type: 2-Alarm Fire
Location: Greenfield
Summary:

Just after 1:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Fire was dispatched to the 4300 block of Kish Way for a reported fire at a residential home.

Arriving firefighters located a downed energized power line on the house and a fire behind the house's kitchen stove. The fire behind the stove was quickly extinguished.

However, electrical discharges and additional arcing was observed in several areas of the house. Operations were then ceased until Duquesne Light could come and de-energize the house/downed line.

While waiting for Duquesne Light, fire broke through the roof of the residence. The fire was extinguished after Duquesne Light arrived and de-energized the house.

A firefighter sustained a minor injury when they received an electric shock as they opened a kitchen window to ventilate smoke out of the structure. He was evaluated on-scene by Medics and was not transported.

No residents sustained injuries.
