Police, Fire, EMS Respond to Overnight Crash on West Liberty Avenue

Summary:

At approximately 12:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to 1415 West Liberty Avenue for reports of a vehicle into a building collision.

The vehicle was travelling northbound (inbound) when the adult male driver lost control and collided with the structure.

The driver was entrapped and required extrication by rescue units. He was transported in serious condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

The adult male passenger had internal injuries and suffered a broken femur. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Neither male was wearing a seatbelt. And area weather does not appear to have played a factor in the collision.

Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating. The investigation, including the exact cause, is ongoing.
