Just after 2:45 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 2300 block of Wilner Drive in East Hills for a seven-round ShotSpotter alert. When en route, dispatchers informed officers that a call was received for a male with a gunshot wound.
Arriving officers located a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses describe a possible altercation involving the victim before the shooting took place.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process evidence at the scene.
Detectives are investigating. There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
