Police Investigate Armed Carjacking, Vehicle Recovered

Just after 2 a.m. , Zone 4 officers were dispatched to the 7700 block of Penn Ave. for a reported carjacking.

Upon arrival, the victim told police that a male actor brandished a firearm and stole his vehicle, fleeing down Penn Ave, toward Bakery Square. The victim was uninjured.

At 2:11 a.m., a Zone 5 supervisor spotted the stolen vehicle and got behind it in Homewood. After a short pursuit, the sergeant lost sight of the vehicle and it was later found unoccupied on the side of the road at Oakwood St. and Inglenook Place, just outside the city. It was towed to be processed by the Auto Squad.

The actor is described as 5'10", approximately 25 years old, wearing a multicolored hoodie and black pants.

The investigation is ongoing.
