UPDATE: On March 16, 2024 at 9:55 a.m., the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before 7:20 a.m., Police from Zone 2 responded for reports of an unresponsive 11-month-old female in a possible drowning in the 1500 block of Centre Avenue.
When medics arrived, the baby was in cardiac arrest and she was transported to the hospital in critical condition. There is no update on her condition at this time.
Special Victims and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
