UPDATE: Police Respond to South Side Bank Robbery

Summary:
UPDATE: On March 21, 2024 Pittsburgh Police Robbery Unit detectives arrested Arthur Lee Williams, 63, of Coalport, PA. Williams is charged with Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and Conspiracy. He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
Original incident details:
Just after 10 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 were dispatched to the 1100 block of E. Carson Street for a reported bank robbery in progress at First National Bank. A detective from the Major Crimes division was already on scene when they arrived.
One of the tellers reported to officers that a middle-aged male wearing a red bandanna approached his station. He inquired about some services when he suddenly demanded denominations of $50 and $100 bills and threatened that he had a gun. The teller did not see a weapon, but the suspect pulled up his shirt and showed his waistband, intimating he had a gun.
The male fled the bank with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured.
Police obtained security video from the bank showing the suspect arrive and leave in a 2008 silver Mazda SUV.
Crime Scene Unit detectives responded to process the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
