UPDATE: Police Investigating Shooting Victim Found on Wood Street

UPDATE: On April 21, 2025, Fugitive Apprehension Unit detectives arrested Jeremiah Schroeder, 18, on a warrant in connection with this shooting.
Schroeder is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and firearms violations.
Schroeder was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
Original incident details:

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Police officers from the Downtown Public Safety Center responded to a shooting victim found across the street from the station.

A 19-year-old male victim was located in the 400 block of Wood Street. He sustained a gunshot wound to his groin. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in stable condition to an area hospital.

The victim alleged that the shooting occurred on Smithfield Street, however officers have been unable to locate a crime scene.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence, including reviewing all available video footage.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
