UPDATE: Police Investigate South Side Business Robberies

UPDATE: Robbery detectives arrested two juveniles in connection with these incidents. Anthony Bennett, 15, of Pittsburgh and Adrian Butera,15, of Green Tree, PA (both Act 33) face multiple charges including: Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Criminal Conspiracy, and Possessing Instruments of Crime. Bennett and Butera were transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 were dispatched to the BP Gas station at 10th and Carson for a reported robbery.
Employees told officers that two males entered the store dressed in black hoodies and masks. The actors then threatened employees with a knife and demanded cash from the register and tobacco products from behind the counter. They fled the area on foot.
A short time later the same actors entered the Glass Zone in the 1300 block of E.Carson. The owner said they immediately jumped over the counter, brandished a knife, and demanded cash and THC products. He gave them a small amount of money and they ran from the store.
No one was injured in either incident.
Detectives were provided with surveillance video from both robberies.
The investigation is ongoing.
