Just before 8:00 a.m., the Pittsburgh Police Bomb Squad, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the 5900 block of Baum Boulevard for reports of a suspicious package left on the sidewalk outside of a business.
An employee called 911 after discovering the package. Upon arrival, officers evacuated the employees from the building and located papers, wires, vials containing liquid inside of the box.
The Hazardous Materials Unit (Hazmat) was called to the scene and determined the contents were not dangerous.
FBI Pittsburgh also responded and will be conducting tests at their lab.
There were no reported injuries. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
