Plainclothes Detectives Arrest Juvenile for Vehicle Thefts in Zone 6
Plainclothes Detectives Arrest Juvenile for Vehicle Thefts in Zone 6
Published on October 31, 2024
On October 28, 2024, Pittsburgh Police took a report for a vehicle stolen from a mechanic business in the 2200 block of Noblestown Road. The owner dropped his vehicle off for inspection in the morning and when he returned to pick it up at 4 p.m., it was gone.
Zone 6 detectives utilized camera footage from the area to capture the theft, along with other footage that identified the actor for similar incidents at that location. Based on the footage, detectives were able to locate him sleeping inside the stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Poplar Street, parked next to another vehicle that had been reported stolen.
The 14-year-old, who was on juvenile probation, was placed in custody for this incident and later admitted to both vehicle thefts.
He was taken to the Municipal Court Building to be processed before being transported to a juvenile detention facility.
