Police Make Arrest in Homewood Homicide and Aggravated Assault

Just after 11:35 p.m., Police from Zone 5 responded to the 7200 block of Mt. Vernon Street for a reported shooting inside a residence following an altercation.
Upon arrival, officers located one male with a gunshot wound to the back. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Medics transported a second male with a gunshot wound to the hospital in critical condition.
Two individuals were transported to headquarters for questioning. Police are in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the house.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

 

UPDATE: Police arrested Preslin Turner, 36, of Pittsburgh in connection with this incident.
Turner is charged with Criminal Homicide, Criminal Attempt Homicide, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
