Learn & Earn is a six-week summer employment program for teens and young adults ages 14-21 in the Pittsburgh region. Participants have the opportunity to earn money, gain valuable work experience, and develop soft skills to help them become college and career ready.
APOST Program Finder
The APOST program finder allows you to search through a database of over 1,000 local programs. The programs are hosted by a variety of community organizations that offer programs for all ages and interests, including Arts & Culture, Sports, Social Justice, STEM, and more.
Allegheny Parks
Allegheny County Parks offer a variety of summer camps and year-round recreational activities including golf, fishing, swimming, kayaking, skiing, youth sports, and much more.
Summer Dreamers
The Summer Dreamers Academy is a no-cost, all day, premier summer learning camp for Pittsburgh Public School students that offers high-quality academic lessons in the morning and engaging enrichment activities in the afternoon. Visit their website to learn more and apply for the 2020 year.
Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
To find a Summer Food Site near you, you can text “FOOD” to 877-877 or Call 2-1-1 for the United Way Hotline to hear site locations. All kids 18 and under can visit any site during its specified serving time to receive a free meal. No registration is required to participate. Participating in a summer reading program can help kids and teens retain the skills they have gained during the school year. Studies have shown that when kids and teens read during the summer, they are more likely to succeed when the new school year begins.
