DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

Welcome to Community Programming

Department of Public Works does more than operate and maintain infrastructure while providing essential services for everyday life, regional economic growth and environmental sustainability. We also provide 3 amazing community programs where we help provide everyday support for the Pittsburgh community.

Below are our 3 programs:

Snow AngelsSNOW ANGELS

Pairs older residents and residents with disabilities with nearby neighbors who volunteer to assist them with snow removal on their sidewalks and walkways.

City CutsCITY CUTS

A lawn cutting program for our older neighbors, our veteran neighbors, and our neighbors with disabilities who do not have the means to cut their own grass.

LoveLOVE YOUR BLOCK

A mini-grant program that brings neighbors together to improve our communities by combating blight, creating assets, and building resilience - block-by-block.
