PITTSBURGH, PA (August 11, 2021) The City of Pittsburgh and Equipment Leasing Authority (ELA) have announced that they have been able to repurpose funding that has allowed for the City to purchase additional park maintenance and snow operations vehicles.
The City has purchased 13 pick-up trucks equipped with snow plows and salt spreaders and a one-ton dump truck equipped with snow plow and salt spreader.
The pick-up vehicles will be able to be used for parks and streets maintenance all year round as plow and salt spreading equipment are removable.
“It is important that we are investing in the tools and equipment to help our hardworking crews in Public Works who are out around the clock in difficult snow and ice conditions,” said Public Works Acting Director Chris Hornstein. “This is just the beginning and we will continue to provide them the equipment they need to provide the best, high quality service to the public.”
