Pittsburgh Bureau of Police detectives have charged a Squirrel Hill man with two counts of corruption of a minor.

A summons arrest was issued June 4 for Reid Reading, 82.

Reading is accused of convincing two pre-adolescent children to take off their clothes for him without the parents’ knowledge or consent.

Detectives suspect there could be additional victims as Reading volunteered for approximately 5 years at a Child Care Center in Shadyside where he worked with pre-school through 1st grade children. He has visited the homes of the children from the school to read to them. He was dismissed from the center after being seen kissing a girl inappropriately.

NOTE: At least one media outlet identified a nearby children’s care center, Bright Light Academy, as the facility where Reading volunteered. Bright Light NEVER was associated with Reading. He never worked there, volunteered there or had any association with the center. Bright Light is in a a completely different building from where Reading worked.

Reading is being charged for an incident in which he was in a home with a woman and her children. Reading later violated a no contact order with the family.
