City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works maintenance employees were alerted by a passerby that the puppy had been spotted on English Lane in Blue Slide Park.
They took her into their care and then to Zone 4 police station before reuniting her with her happy owners.
Thank you to the public and the media for spreading the word far and wide.
Pittsburgh Police appreciate the assistance.
There are no arrests at this time.
The male suspect in this case is described as tall, very thin, and in his early 20's.
Pittsburgh Police - and one very concerned dog owner - are asking for the public's assistance after a puppy was stolen in the 2000 block of Beechwood Blvd. at 5:50 p.m.
Daphne is a 4-month-old mixed breed with black and white coloring, approximately 20 pounds, and wearing a pink collar.
The dog's owner was walking her near the Frick Park Environmental Center when an unknown male stopped and began petting the dog. At one point he picked the dog up and unhooked the leash from its collar. When the woman asked for her dog back he pushed her and ran off with the puppy.
If you spot Daphne, or have any information, please call Pittsburgh Police Zone 4 station at (412) 422-6520 or dial 9-1-1.
