Pittsburgh EMS, Fire and Police responded to a structure fire on the 700 block of Excelsior Street around 12 a.m.
When first responders arrived, they observed flames and smoke coming out of the home.
All six residents were able to escape on their own. The 2-alarm fire was determined to be under control in just under 45 minutes.
There were no reported injuries, and the Red Cross assisted the displaced family.
Upon investigating the cause, Fire Investigations Unit has determined the fire was incendiary. An unknown suspect was viewed igniting a fire to the rear and front of the home.
The suspect fled towards an unknown direction. The investigation is still on going.
