Just after midnight, firefighters with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to a 1-alarm residential structure fire in the 4000 block of Cambronne Street.
Responding units extinguished the fire quickly, but encountered severe hoarding conditions in the home where they accessed the second floor to find a female deceased with a dog, which was also deceased.
No one else lived in the home.
The Fire Investigations Unit will determine the exact cause of the fire. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office will release the victim's identity and cause and manner of death.
EMS and Police were also on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
