Pittsburgh Police, EMS and Animal Care & Control responded to a report of a dog attack on the 1000 block of Blackadore Street around 9:10 a.m.
Officers located a female victim who had been mauled by two dogs with serious wounds to head and face. Medics transported the woman to a local hospital in critical condition.
The dogs were secure inside the home. Animal Care & Control responded to take possession of the dogs. The Police's Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
Per the initial investigation, the victim is related to the dogs’ owner and was trying to let the dogs out of the residence when the attack occurred.
