Update 3 : Police Investigate Two Shootings in Zone 3

Summary:

Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 3 first responded to reports of a male shot in the 40 block of Briggs Street at 6:20 p.m.

When they arrived on scene they found a male who had been shot in the knee. A witness stated the male had been shot by someone who had driven by in a black Acura.

The male was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Shortly after, at 6:43 p.m. police received a call that a second male had been shot in the calf on East Woodford Avenue and Hazeldell Street.
EMS arrived to transport the second victim to another hospital in stable condition.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit arrived to process the scene. It was later determined that the second victim had been inside the Acura before he was found outside on the street on East Woodford Avenue.

The black Acura was later recovered on the 400 block of Alice Street, but it was unoccupied.

Update 2: Police have made one arrest in this case. A second arrest is pending.

Update 3: On June 24 police arrested a second person, a juvenile, in connection with this incident.

Police say all of the individuals involved in this incident are known to each other and the shootings stemmed from a dispute over a stolen PlayStation and a stolen purse.

The investigation continues.
