Summary: Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers responded to reports of a home invasion on the 3000 block of Zephyr Avenue around 2:45 p.m.
Before arriving on scene, police also received a 911 call about a person shot in the close vicinity.
Upon arriving at the home, the homeowner told police the male suspect had gone upstairs. SWAT was called on suspicion the suspect was armed and barricaded in the home.
SWAT cleared the structure and found no one. The suspect is believed to have jumped out of the second floor window of the home before police arrived.
The suspect was later apprehended near the Dollar General store on Sheraden. He was transported to a local hospital for observation.
Police found no evidence of shots fired and no guns were recovered.
The investigation continues.
