Police/SWAT Respond to Call for a Welfare Check

Summary:

Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officers from Zone 2 responded to a call for a welfare check on a female in the 2000 block of Tustin Street just before 9 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene the female was combative and slammed the door on police, barricading herself inside the residence. 

Members of the Pittsburgh Police SWAT Team and Tactical Negotiations Team were sent in to and establish 

communications with the female and convince her to safely exit the residence.

Police eventually made entry into the home and the female surrendered without incident. She was taken to Western Psych for a full evaluation.
